CORDOVA WHITE SANDBAR

CORDOVA WHITE SAND BAR

Cebu City, the Queen City of the South is well known to be near tourist destinations like beaches, resorts, mountains, and other sites. Tourist destinations are close to the city. It is easy for local and foreign tourists to visit such destinations.

I have discovered a beach in Cordova which locals there visit every weekend to have a quick dip. It is already well known to locals before it spread over the net. The sandbar is a public beach which shows pristine white sands and crystal clear water. It is located in Cordova, Cebu.

How did I know about Cordova White Sandbar?

My home is near Cordova. There was a time when our family wanted to spend time in a beach, my late mother told us about a public beach in Cordova and she said it has white sand and the beach is beautiful. So my family head on the place and as we arrived on the site, such marvelous beauty of the beach greeted us. Since then, my family spends time there to have a dip. Such remarkable nameless beach deserves a name so I thought of naming it Cordova Sandbar and then enhanced by others into Cordova White Sandbar.

How to Get There?
🚗Ride Via V-HIRE from SM Cebu to Gaisano Cordova - 35 Pesos
🛵 Ride a Tricycle from Gaisano. It’s Pakyaw for 50 Pesos Only Good for 6 Persons.
Tell Tricycle Driver to bring to the Sandbar at Kimwa near Parola and Roro

Enjoy the Beach!
There are Snacks for Sale in the Area.

You can bring food and cook but be sure take back all your garbage and LEAVE NO TRACE but MEMORIES. We should maintain the beauty of this breathtaking beach.

Island Hopping

Island Hopping
We had our island hopping at the islands near Mactan Island. We rented a boat which was good for 30 people at the price of Php3,000. You can contact Mr. Arnold at 09321754764 for the boat rental. The port of the boats is located beside Portofino beach in Mactan Island. There were many groups of people had island hopping too during that day.

On our way to the first destination, the sea and the sky were clear. The sea breeze feels so good. The sun was up and the heat was on, so I had to put some sun block lotion and wear long sleeves to protect my skin from sunburn.

The sea view was alluring so we took photos with it. We posed at the deck since it was the best part of the boat to take shots.

Our first stop was Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary. Upon stopping at the sanctuary, each person must pay Php100 for the entrance fee. There are plenty of colorful fishes living in the sanctuary. We fed them with bread and the way I saw the fishes took the food, they were like hungry piranhas in the movie, they bit the food fast and in groups.

These fishes got close to us as long as we were holding food. They are not the shy type, just hungry ones. Hehe.

The fish here seemed to like the camera and it’s like it wanted to have sa selfie. Haha.

Swimming underwater and viewing the fishes there was a great experience. Those who want to try snorkeling and underwater swimming with fishes around, this is the right place for you.

Our second destination was Sulpa Island. It is a very small isolated island. There is no inhabitant in it. It was noon when we reached the island so we decided to take our lunch there.

There were also other groups who stopped at the island.

The water at Sulpa Island is very blue and clean. It was great for swimming and so we headed into the waters and enjoyed it. We caught a starfish and oysters. There are a lot of oysters there.

Our third and last stop was Olango Island. We stopped at the port of the island. The port has blue and clean water unlike other ports. Behind this mini island at the port, are white sands. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to take a shot with the sands. We had fun swimming there.

On the way back to Mactan Island, we dried up ourselves and changed clothes on the boat. We were able to take a bath at home since there is no bathroom on the boat or at the port.

On our way home, we felt tired but we had a great time. I am looking forward for another island hopping in the future.
