Most of us regularly pass by Sunny Hills and Gaisano Grand Mall Talamban, a
very busy part of the city. We are living here in the city but never realize
such gem exist. Budlaan Falls which is found in Barangay Budlaan, Cebu City.

Budlaan
When you reach
Barangay Budlaan, the motor driver will drop you in a store where you have to
list your names for their record and emergency cases too. There are many guides
on standby in the area. Guide fee is Php200. If it is your first time to visit
the falls, I highly suggest you get a guide. The way to Budlaan falls is tricky
and stiff. Definitely No Entrance Fee for the falls.
Trekking to Budlaan
Falls
There are two ways to
Budlaan Falls, you can walk to the woods. You will pass houses in the woods, it
is quite a long way. As you get near to the falls, the way gets stiffer and a
bit challenging. I suggest you wear shoes. I was wearing slippers that time and
it was very arduous for me. The other way to the falls is trek through the
river banks. That way is also challenging due to rocks and you have to climb
while going to the falls. You will see many wonderful view there and different
falls. The falls which you will possibly pass are: Tinisig Uwang Falls,
Malingin Falls, Lanong, Kandumay, Malandong, Lut-od, and Kabang.
The Arrival
When we arrived, the beauty of Budlaan Falls
greeted us. Our long trek was worth it. It was a great site. The water was very
cold. We enjoyed the falls. Such gem of nature has been preserved even it is in
the city. It feels like I was taken out away from the city. It’s like I was in
paradise.
