Island Hopping

Island Hopping
We had our island hopping at the islands near Mactan Island. We rented a boat which was good for 30 people at the price of Php3,000. You can contact Mr. Arnold at 09321754764 for the boat rental. The port of the boats is located beside Portofino beach in Mactan Island. There were many groups of people had island hopping too during that day.

On our way to the first destination, the sea and the sky were clear. The sea breeze feels so good. The sun was up and the heat was on, so I had to put some sun block lotion and wear long sleeves to protect my skin from sunburn.

The sea view was alluring so we took photos with it. We posed at the deck since it was the best part of the boat to take shots.

Our first stop was Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary. Upon stopping at the sanctuary, each person must pay Php100 for the entrance fee. There are plenty of colorful fishes living in the sanctuary. We fed them with bread and the way I saw the fishes took the food, they were like hungry piranhas in the movie, they bit the food fast and in groups.

These fishes got close to us as long as we were holding food. They are not the shy type, just hungry ones. Hehe.

The fish here seemed to like the camera and it’s like it wanted to have sa selfie. Haha.

Swimming underwater and viewing the fishes there was a great experience. Those who want to try snorkeling and underwater swimming with fishes around, this is the right place for you.

Our second destination was Sulpa Island. It is a very small isolated island. There is no inhabitant in it. It was noon when we reached the island so we decided to take our lunch there.

There were also other groups who stopped at the island.

The water at Sulpa Island is very blue and clean. It was great for swimming and so we headed into the waters and enjoyed it. We caught a starfish and oysters. There are a lot of oysters there.

Our third and last stop was Olango Island. We stopped at the port of the island. The port has blue and clean water unlike other ports. Behind this mini island at the port, are white sands. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to take a shot with the sands. We had fun swimming there.

On the way back to Mactan Island, we dried up ourselves and changed clothes on the boat. We were able to take a bath at home since there is no bathroom on the boat or at the port.

On our way home, we felt tired but we had a great time. I am looking forward for another island hopping in the future.
