Bantayan Escapade 2015

Bantayan Escapade 2015

We visited Bantayan Island, Cebu Summer this year 2015. The island has fully recovered from the super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. All businesses are back to normal and so as the supplies there. The island’s beauty has been fully restored.

Going to Bantayan Island, if you are from Cebu City, you have to go to North Bus Terminal. You may take a ride with a bus or V-Hire which will bring you to Hagnaya Port. Bus with Aircon fare is Php150. Estimated time of travel by Bus is 3 Hours while for V-Hire is 2 and a half hour. Along the way, you will see beautiful views of the sea. When you reach Liloan, the bus/v-hire will stop over Titay’s Liloan Rosquillos & Delicacies for refreshments and buy snacks.

When you reach Hagnaya Port, you will have to line up for tickets for the ferry which will bring you to Bantayan Island. Below are the Ferry Fares:
Regular: Php170
Student: Php144.50
Senior Citizens: Php136
Child (1 - 12 years Old): Php85

It takes an hour travel to Bantayan Island from Hagnaya Port but you will have a great time to relax, looking at the view, and watch television while you are on board.

When we reached Bantayan Island, we took a ride in tricycle to bring us to Sugar Beach. Fare is Php25 Each. It is just a few minutes ride from Bantayan Port to Sugar Beach which is in Santa Fe. There are many beach resorts along the shores of Santa Fe which you can choose from. Sugar Beach has many coconut trees and cottages.

Below are the room rates of Sugar Beach:
Fan Rooms: Php700
Aircon Rooms: Php1200
Aircon Rooms Beach front:  Php1500
Tent Own: Php150
Tent Supplied by resort: Php500
Open Cottage: Php200

All rates are subject to change without notice and are based on low season. Holy Week rates check directly with resort.

We rented all the rooms but it was not enough for all of us so we also rented a house and rooms across sugar beach. We were able to use the kitchen including the stove and refrigerator to cook and store food. It was very helpful for us and we were able to cook these foods.

We were free to use the cottages there.

Santa Fe has very wide shoreline, fine white sands and crystal clear water, no wonder why Bantayan Island is known to be next to Boracay Island.

Bantayan Island also a great view with the sunset so we took some photos with it.

We rented a boat to bring us to Virgin Island. It is one of the best attractions at Bantayan. We rented the boat for Php1500 only and there were 12 of who fitted into it. On the way to Virgin Island, we were able to have a wonder view of Bantayan Island. We passed different beach resorts of Santa Fe and all of them are fantastic.

It took us 30 minutes before we reached the island. When we reached Virgin Island, I was amazed by its beauty. I felt like I want to jump out of the boat just to reach it. I just can’t wait to step on it!

Virgin Island has pristine sands and crystal clear waters. The island is fantastic! You will surely enjoy there.

Behind me is Bantayan Island.

There are other islands which you can explore there but we just did not have the chance to visit those other islands due to limited time we had. We will keep on visiting Bantayan Island.
